Strive Education LLC ("Strive," "we," "us," or "our") built this service for students, and we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It covers everyone who uses learnwithstrive.com (the "Service") — students and parents alike. By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
Account information: Your name, email address, and password. Your password is stored only as a one-way bcrypt hash — we never see it or store it in a readable form. Optionally, you can also give us your goal or dream career, your test date, and the topics you find hardest.
Consent record: If you are under 18, we save the date and time you acknowledged, during onboarding, that a parent or guardian is aware you are using Strive. We keep this record for the life of the account.
Parent/guardian information: If you give us a parent or guardian email, we use it to send automated weekly progress reports. A parent can also open a read-only dashboard using a parent access code in the format STR-XXXX (for example, STR-6931). You can change or remove the parent email anytime in Account settings.
Learning and session data: Your tutoring activity — subjects studied, time spent, quiz results, accuracy, XP earned, and session transcripts. This is stored securely on our servers, not only on your device.
Diagnostic and test data: Results from diagnostic assessments and practice tests, including estimated scores and topic-by-topic performance.
Payment information: Payments are handled by Stripe. We never store your full card number — only a Stripe customer ID that lets us manage your subscription.
Support conversations: Your chats with our AI-powered support agent are logged for quality and to help resolve any disputes. We treat these logs as personal data under this Policy.
Usage and technical data: Pages visited, session counts, feature and API usage, browser type, device type, operating system, and IP address. We use IP addresses only for security and rate limiting — never for advertising.
Strive uses Claude (by Anthropic) to power tutoring sessions and support, and OpenAI's text-to-speech to generate the tutor's voice. To do this, the relevant text — your messages, support questions, or the words to be spoken — is sent to those providers' APIs for processing, and their own privacy policies govern how they handle it. We do not use your personal data to train AI models. We encourage you to review Anthropic's and OpenAI's privacy policies for details on how they handle data.
Your account and learning data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL), hosted in the United States. Our main safeguards include:
No system is ever 100% secure. If you find a security vulnerability, please report it responsibly to privacy@learnwithstrive.com. If a data breach ever affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law — including Georgia's data breach notification law (O.C.G.A. § 10-1-912) — within the required timeframe.
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only in these situations:
We choose providers that maintain appropriate security standards, and we do not allow them to use your data for their own purposes beyond delivering their service to us.
When you delete your account, any personal data not subject to a legal retention requirement is permanently deleted within 30 days.
Strive is built for high school students preparing for the SAT and ACT. You must be at least 13 to create an account — anyone under 13 is blocked at sign-up, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email privacy@learnwithstrive.com and we will delete the account and its data promptly.
For users aged 13 to 17, we record a timestamped consent acknowledgment during onboarding confirming that a parent or guardian is aware. Parents and guardians can review their child's data through the parent dashboard, request its deletion, or revoke consent at any time by contacting privacy@learnwithstrive.com.

We keep your login session in a secure, HTTP-only cookie. Your browser sends it back to us automatically, and scripts on the page cannot read it — which helps keep your session safe. We use your browser's local storage only for small, non-sensitive preferences (for example, remembering that you are signed in). We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies, and we do not sell data to advertisers or data brokers.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will email registered users about material changes at least 14 days before they take effect, and we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
